Information on the Professional German Exam for Doctors (FSP) Preparation Course
The professional German exam for doctors measures the practicality of technical language proficiency. The aim is to test the candidate's technical language proficiency rather than measuring medical knowledge. The candidate is expected to use a consistent and fluent language during the examination process. In addition, it is expected to use professional terms and use descriptive language while answering the questions during the exam. In general, the exam consists of 3 different stations of 20 minutes each and takes approximately 60 minutes. These;
● Doctor-Patient Interview,
● Documentation
● Doctor – Doctor Interview
Doctor-Patient Interview:
The candidate taking the exam conducts an anamnesis interview with a patient. An actor pretends to be a patient, and the candidate is a doctor. A doctor-patient conversation is simulated on a case study.
Documentation:
At the second station, the candidate taking the exam must transfer the anamnesis to a history sheet. For this purpose, the candidate is given a form that is currently used in hospitals. The candidate is expected to fill out this form.
Doctor-Doctor Interview:
It is the third and final station of the exam. The candidate who takes the exam at this station transfers the information about the patient he encounters at the first station to two doctors. Conversation takes place between doctors. Therefore, it is expected that medical terminology will be used when talking about the case. He should also convey his own assessments and diagnoses of the patient. After the candidate taking the exam conveys their own evaluations, two doctors ask questions about the case. He is also expected to provide answers to these questions.
